The (VI) Interdisciplinary Day on Rare Diseases UMH started last Saturday February 25 in the UMH.

What was the 6th Interdisciplinary Day on Rare Diseases UMH about?
The event was held on the occasion of the “World of Rare Diseases Day”. The event was promoted by the Humanitarian Association of Degenerative Diseases and Syndromes of Childhood and Adolescence (A.H.E.D.Y.S.I.A.). It had different testimonies of patients and medical professionals presentations at 9:30 am.
The scheduled events for that day will have:
- studies and input from medical professionals and researchers.
- direct testimony of family members and patients
- symposia and debates on the future of these diseases at national and international level
Which entities participate during the 6th Interdisciplinary Day on Rare Diseases UMH?
The UMH and AHEDYSUA signed a collaboration agreement in 2016 with respect to this social and health problems.
The Spanish Federation for Rare Diseases (FEDER) coordinates with the European Organization for Rare Diseases (EURORDIS). In addition, with the I Alliance Ibero-American Rare Diseases (ALIBER), launched a campaign to raise awareness on the occasion of the World Rare Disease Day. Its aim was to raise awareness about these rare pathologies and focus on the situations of lack of fairness and injustice within the family.
FEDER organizes and leads Spain a Solidarity Network, formed by associations, companies, foundations, scientific societies and institutions that reported the message on different channels.
More of 300 entities participate in the celebration of the World Rare Disease Day in Spain. Many of them organized more than 200 activities throughout Spain.

The Conference took place in the Assembly Hall of the building Santiago Ramón y Cajal in the campus of Sant Joan d’Alacant. Of course at Miguel Hernández University (UMH).
